Treatment for Periodontal Disease

There are a variety of treatment options for periodontal disease depending on the severity of the disease. These treatment options can range from non-surgical methods to more advanced corrective surgical therapy.

Many times, the early stages of periodontal disease are best treated with non-surgical periodontal therapy. However, for more severe stages of disease, some form of initial non-surgical periodontal therapy often precedes corrrective surgical therapy. This is done to improve the overall tissue quality prior to surgery and to faciliatate healing of tissues after surgery.
